MOIRè

These works were conceived after a holiday in the Mornington Peninsular, where I was shocked to see the number of foxes who were making themselves at home in suburban areas and more frighteningly,in the back dunes of the wild beaches where endangered birds come to breed. They are the beginning of an ongoing investigation into the colonisation of the indigenous landscape by feral animals and introduced plant species. An inherent aspect of this colonisation is the displacement of natives species.  In many of these works, I have referenced Surrealism (and to a lesser degree, the Medieval works Hieronymous Bosch) in order to emphasise the warp world aspect of the colonised landscape.
